The mission of our organization is to bring high-quality computer programming classes to the under-served and under-represented youth of Baltimore City.
Code in the Schools is a non-profit organization inspired by the NYC non-profit "Chess in the Schools" and the "Code.org" initiative. Learning to code fosters creative expression while at the same time imparting concretely applicable job skills.
Mike and Gretchen LeGrand founded Code in the Schools in 2013 to provide Baltimore City youth with access to high-quality computer science education. We partner with schools and afterschool programs to bring our classes to children who wouldn't otherwise be exposed to computer science as a career or degree choice.
